FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear Prospective and Current Members:

On May 27, 2021, I stood before members of this organization, the D.A.W.L. board, my family, friends and was sworn in as the 37th President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. It was a wonderful celebration, especially since it was our first in person event in almost a year. On that day, I could feel the excitement and joy of all those around me, and I knew the energy I felt on that day would propel us into a wonderful year.

As many of you know, D.A.W.L. is a bar association focused on promoting and fostering the interests of women lawyers, encouraging a spirit of friendship and helpfulness, and maintaining the honor and dignity of the profession. D.A.W.L. members include all genders, lawyers, judges, students, and other legal and business professionals.

A D.A.W.L. membership provides value to you through discounted admission to D.A.W.L. events, invitations to special “members only” events, and connection to a network of outstanding attorneys and legal professionals. D.A.W.L. events typically include a Veteran’s Day luncheon and Continuing Legal Education co-hosted with the DuPage County Bar Association, a Joint Holiday Party with the DuPage County Bar Association and the DuPage Justinian Society of Lawyers, Judicial Reception, Installation, and networking events. Each spring, we also work with the Girls Scouts of DuPage County for Project Law Track, which is a program that introduces Girl Scouts to legal careers and includes a mock trial. This year, it is my hope to have lunches with members of the judiciary and other legal professionals where we can discuss our career paths and discuss our trajectory as lawyers, parents, and friends.

Your D.A.W.L. membership dues ensure the continuing success of this bar association and provide our association with the ability to bring our members new and exciting events and opportunities. Your membership dues also allow this association to provide valuable outreach to our community.

If you have been a member of D.A.W.L., I sincerely hope you will renew your membership. If you are considering joining our unique organization, I hope you will join D.A.W.L. and take advantage of all that we have to offer. Together, we’ve got this!

Victoria C. Kelly, 37th President of D.A.W.L.
